Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig triumphed in the 73rd Miss Universe competition held in Mexico.
Denmark marked a momentous victory at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant as 21-year-old Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned the new sovereign, signifying the nation’s inaugural triumph at this esteemed event.
Kjaer’s remarkable performance and composed responses impressed the judges, earning her the highly sought-after crown.
Mexico’s Maria Fernanda Beltran secured the first runner-up spot, while Nigeria’s Cnidimma Adetshina claimed second runner-up.
Victoria is a 21-year-old Danish entrepreneur, dancer, and beauty titleholder. She made history as the first individual from Denmark to capture the Miss Universe title. Born and raised in Denmark, Victoria boasts a degree in business and marketing.
Victoria commenced her journey in beauty pageants with Miss Denmark. She gained international recognition in 2022 when she finished in the top 20 of Miss Grand International. Nicknamed the “Human Barbie” for her doll-like appearance, Victoria became a crowd favorite. She was crowned Miss Universe Denmark in September 2024.
The top 12, prominently featuring Latin American participants, advanced to the evening gown segment. As the competition intensified in Mexico, five contestants stood out as frontrunners: Denmark, Mexico, Nigeria, Thailand, and Venezuela.
The finalists faced challenges with a series of spontaneous questions designed to assess their analytical capabilities and skill in articulating insightful responses under pressure.
India’s Rhea Singha also took part in the event. Despite her commendable performance in the preliminary rounds, where she highlighted her grace, Singha was unable to secure a position among the final 12 contestants.
At just 19 years old, Rhea Singha had previously made headlines by winning the title of Miss Universe India 2024. Originating from Gujarat, Singha’s journey included accolades like Miss Teen Earth 2023 and Diva’s Miss Teen Gujarat 2020.
